Hassan TABAR is renowned as one of the best contemporary santur musicians. This instrument is a hammered zither, one of the ancestors of the piano. Born in Ghazvin, Iran in 1961, he devoted his adolescence to learning the repertoire of classical vocal music. Later, in Tehran, he learned the santur with Mas’oud SHENASSÂ. Based in France since 1986, he teaches the art and performs worldwide, accompanied among others by the CHEMIRANI family. His discography has been awarded by Télérama and Le Monde de la Musique.
