Theatre | 'From Eckmühl to Eckmühl'

Place Serpa, Le Microphone

In this solo show, Stéphane Titelein tells the story of his family through his play 'D'Eckmühl à Eckmühl'. Eckmühl is a Breton lighthouse, Eckmühl is a district of Oran in Algeria. Two places, one family. Mine. A story, my grandmother stepping out of her gypsy caravan to take a boat, leaving Brittany, her arrival in Algeria. The birth of my father. The confession of a grandmother to her fifty-year-old grandson, the secret revealed, a world of certainty that collapses. The urgency to travel, to sweep away the sand, to recall, to trace. To find again…
