Born in 2021, Ona Mae invites you to a dreamy journey that links Iberian-Latin culture with West African culture. Originating from the Barcelona-based artist and anthropologist Mariona Villadelprat, the project celebrates openness, hybridity and rebirth through femininity. The mystical sounds of the kamélé ngoni (Manding harp) and other traditional instruments, such as kass-kass or the pandero cuadrado of Peñaparda, fuse with vintage synths and electronic textures, blending modernity and tradition into radiant, message-bearing music.
