Scenes from Country: Hernani by Victor Hugo | The Willing Liar - Laurent Brethome

Beaupréau, La Loge, Allée Jean Monnet

Not Hernani, the Victor Hugo play, but Doña Sol would perhaps have been a better title. Facing this woman, vibrant and passionate, stand three men driven by forces as powerful as their loves: revenge, ambition and honor. Love, intrigue, twists and tragic tension make up this adaptation by Laurent Brethome. He invites on stage amateurs to portray the people, giving a social and epic dimension to this theater of the intimate.
