Jean-François Bauret (1932–2014) is one of the French photographers of his generation who is best known. He is mainly remembered for his nudes and his advertising work. In his commissions as in his personal investigations, he uses stripped-down compositions, presenting the bodies directly and playing with the contrasts of black and white. In his early years, from 1959 onward, he also photographed many artists, famous or still unknown to the general public, at their homes or in their studios. He thus captures intimate moments…
