Clouds embroidered, and beneath them long threads of silver: that is how rain falls in Julie Dulcamara’s world. Elsewhere, faces reduced to outlines spill thoughts into smoke, closed eyes weep in silence. Her world reveals itself in small touches, intimate and somewhat mysterious. She works from found materials—linens, cottons, sometimes a simple pillowcase—over which she then sews embroidery.
