The Assemblies of Tours are part of the city's ongoing democracy policy. The Assemblies of Tours are bodies dedicated to citizen initiatives and consultations, replacing the previous District Councils (since 2018). All residents aged 11 and over, associations, and sector collectives are members by right of an Assembly. The Assemblies work in the public interest, are a source of proposals, and are informed or consulted for city-supported projects in their sector.
