Dressing the Image

Through a guided tour of the museums of the Second Empire and the Empress, visitors will dive into the era's refined world and discover how painted and photographic portraits contributed to shaping the image of Empress Eugénie. They will explore dress codes to better understand their role in expressing prestige, elegance, and social status. The tour will be followed by a creative workshop in which each participant imagines the style sheet of a fictional character from the Second Empire by drawing a silhouette inspired by the era's imperial aesthetic.
