From the Renaissance to the Baroque era, music and literature engage in a fruitful dialogue in which words become music and music elevates poetry. From madrigals inspired by Petrarch to Costeley’s works on texts by Ronsard and Du Bellay, up to the early stages of opera, this concert highlights the close ties between composers and poets. A musical journey... With students from the Department of Early Music and their professors
