About the opera: The Magic Flute is an opera by Mozart dating from 1791 (libretto by Emanuel Schikaneder). Plot summary: The opera follows the initiatory journey of the young prince Tamino. Chased by a serpent, he is saved by the Three Ladies, servants of the Queen of the Night. She entrusts him with a mission: to rescue her daughter Pamina, held captive by the wise Sarastro. To aid him, Tamino receives a magic flute, capable of softening hearts and harmonizing the world. He is accompanied by Papageno, a funny and naïve bird-catcher who, for his part, receives magical bells.
