Documentary: Writing Life: Annie Ernaux Told by High School Students
Culture · Monday, November 2 · 18:50 · Le Palais
Passage de l'Hôtel de Ville
A major figure in contemporary literature and the first French woman to receive the Nobel Prize, Annie Ernaux embodies for many both personal and collective emancipation, blending the intimate with the universal. Claire Simon offers a deflected portrait by giving voice to the students, to a youth from all corners of France, from Cayenne to Sarcelles. How do today’s youth, here and there, seize Annie Ernaux’s writings? What does this youth have to tell us in return from their own lived experience?
