Figure of Empire and Contredanse pulls and unfolds one of the many threads woven into Empire. This piece, created in 2025 by Magali Milian and Romuald Luydlin, incorporated the dynamics inherent to the imperial regime of domination, from its aggressive expansion to its downfall, in an attempt to foil its mechanisms. In the course of their open and multiple inquiries on the subject, the choreographers encountered contredanse.
