ALEXANDER SODDY / STEFAN DOHR

HALLE AUX GRAINS, 1 Place Dupuy

The evening also puts the instrument in the spotlight with the second concerto dedicated to him by Richard Strauss. This work recalls Mozartian clarity, a trait shared with Schubert's Symphony No. 5. In composing for the horn, Strauss inevitably thought of his father, who in his time was considered one of the greatest virtuosos of the instrument. Alongside Alexander Soddy, renowned in both lyric and symphonic repertoires, the Orchestre du Capitole invites an exceptional interpreter, worthy of this elder: Stefan Dohr, principal horn soloist of the Berlin Philharmonic.
