Bertsolaritza, rhymed and improvised singing in Basque

2, rue Ambroise Paré 64200 Biarritz

The Basque Cultural Institute, in partnership with the city of Biarritz, offers an immersion into the world of bertsolaritza, the rhymed and improvised singing in Basque, through a bilingual multimedia exhibition (Basque-French). It is aimed at both novices and enthusiasts of this artistic discipline. Various subtitled audiovisual documents (reports, archival footage, and excerpts of testimonies) will allow visitors to discover the characteristics and subtleties of an oral art deeply rooted in Basque culture.
