Until the 19th century, Toulouse stood out for a strong anchor in daily popular singing, which led the municipality to create in 1820 the first free school of vocal music, ancestor of the Conservatory. To reconnect with this tradition, the COMDT organizes on the third Friday of each month the Cantadas. Inspired by the Cantèras pyrénéennes, these convivial gatherings bring together all audiences to sing together without distinction between stage and spectators.
