Andromaque

88 Rue de la Rivière, Théâtre du Passeur

The action takes place in Epirus, at the court of Pyrrhus, son of Achilles. Pyrrhus holds Andromache, widow of Hector, and his son Astyanax. He has fallen in love with his captive and rejects his marriage to Hermione. Oreste is sent by the Greeks to claim Astyanax. In reality, he mostly wishes to leave with Hermione, who herself is enamored of Pyrrhus. To save his son, Andromaque agrees to marry Pyrrhus. Hermione, feeling betrayed by Pyrrhus, wishes to take revenge through Oreste. Staged and performed by Jean-François Cochet - Théâtre En Actes
