From photographs to archives: what for?

On the occasion of the Bicentennial of Photography, the Paris Archives present an exhibition showing the different uses of photographs (19th-21st centuries) they hold. In public archives files, they provide evidence, testimony and coexist with paper documents. They can also come from private-origin photographic fonds, produced for documentary, tourist or artistic purposes.
