The Franciscaines on Stage: Marguerite Duras and Cinema

Les Franciscaines - Deauville

Starting from texts devoted to cinema, this show presents a free, funny, and deeply innovative Marguerite Duras. A sensitive journey where speech, light, and silence compose a tribute to her imagination and her view of creation. Recorded in the early 1980s, these cinema-focused interviews reveal a little-known facet of Marguerite Duras. She returns to her work as a filmmaker, her collaborations with Delphine Seyrig, Michael Lonsdale, and Bruno Nuytten, and shares a singular reflection on look, memory, history, and power.
