Poems read and sung by Dan Grall accompanied by Nico Brung on the accordion. Born in 1880 on the banks of the Loire, Gaston Couté spent all his adolescence in the mill acquired by his father. Not very interested in school, he became passionate about poetry. At 18, he moved to Paris, frequented the cabarets and after difficult beginnings, met successful songwriters (Bruant, Botrel, Mac Orlan) who introduced him into renowned cabarets. Absinthe and the precarious comfort of his attic room would take their toll on him. He died in June 1911 at 31 years old!
