Formed in 2018, The Messthetics is a supergroup consisting of bassist Joe Lally and drummer Brendan Canty from the legendary punk-hardcore project Fugazi, as well as guitarist Anthony Pirog. This quartet with a 'jazz punk jam' sound was quickly joined by saxophonist James Brandon Lewis, who adds a new dimension to their tracks, pushing musical explorations even further. Their four-piece debut album was released in spring 2024 on the iconic Impulse! label.
