THE SACRED OF THE PROFANES

THEATRE DU PAVE, 34 Rue Maran

Why is the audience no longer as loud, participative as it used to be? The Sacred of the Profaners answers some of these questions by looking at the history of theater actors through the evolution of their social statuses, their profession and the treatment society reserves for them. More than a historical fresco, the play aims to (re)highlight those who have been invisibilized or erased, especially women, and to shift the perspective. For this story mirrors the broader history, that of men and women of the past.
