What happens when the crowd disperses and emotions invert? What does the collective emotion produce—and what becomes of its fading? At the heart of the piece, the Lebanese collective Sanam's track evokes, through lyrics drawn from a poem by the Lebanese writer Paul Chaoul, loss, finitude, and fall. The five performers traverse these states to join in unison and build a common figure as an act of resistance and hope for the world to come.
