Dance — Prime Matter(s)

Théâtre de Charleville-Mézières - Place du théâtre

Through the simplicity of dance and the presence of bodies, Matière(s) première(s) questions power relations between Africa and the West, the mechanisms of postcolonial domination, and the plundering of resources. Anne Nguyen pairs raw, virtuosic gestural language with geometric, pared-down choreographic writing. The six dancers take you on a trance made of urban and traditional dances on a soundtrack blending African, Afro-American, and electronic music. This explosive choreography reveals both the beauty and the brutality of the world. 1h15+ 8 years
