What happens when the crowd disperses and emotions invert? What does the collective upheaval create – and its fading away? At the heart of the piece, the excerpt by the Lebanese collective Sanam, drawn from a poem by the Lebanese writer Paul Chaoul, evokes loss, finitude, and collapse. The five performers traverse all these states to build in unison a common figure as an act of resistance and hope for the world to come.
