Theatre - Picnic in the Countryside

5 Rue de la Forêt

A play by Fernando Arrabal staged by Wellington Mannoel, at the crossroads of genres, both funny, absurd, poetic and deeply desperate. Behind the apparent lightness of the farce lies a universal human tragedy. Piquenique en Campagne does not merely denounce armed conflict: it explores the survival mechanism of the human spirit. When the world loses all meaning, humor is sometimes the courtesy of despair.
