The Tricks of Scapin, featuring Denis Podalydès

1 Place Colette, 75001 Paris

With nearly 300 performances since 2017, The Tricks of Scapin with Denis Podalydès continues to delight audiences across generations. The company member recalls that it is a “play for the troupe, written not for the court but for the people.” It opened in 1671 at the Palais-Royal during renovations, freeing Molière from the constraints of comedies-ballets and stage machines: pure theatre giving the director great freedom. In a set reminiscent of the port of Naples, where the play is set, Podalydès reveals the full breadth of his art.
