Exhibition: A History of French Cinema - Maghrebi Legacies

Musée de l'histoire de l'immigration, 293 avenue Daumesnil

For more than sixty years, French cinema has been evolving under the impulse of filmmakers, actors and actresses from Maghrebi immigrant backgrounds. Their works have introduced new stories, new faces and new forms, redefining the imaginaries of the seventh art. The exhibition A History of French Cinema traces this history by highlighting those who contributed to it. Directors, from the pioneer Ali Ghanem to Mehdi Charef, Rachid Bouchareb, Hafsia Herzi and Lina Soualem, as well as actors Jamel Debbouze, Rachida Brakni, Roschdy Zem or Sami Bouajila, have contributed to this renewal.
