Born in 2021, Ona Mae invites you on a dreamlike journey that links Iberian-Latin culture with West African culture. Born from Barcelona-based artist and anthropologist Mariona Villadelprat, the project celebrates openness, mestizaje, and rebirth through femininity. The mystical sounds of the kamélé n’goni (Mandingue harp) and other traditional instruments, such as the kass-kass or Peñaparda’s pandero cuadrado, blend with vintage synthesizers and electronic textures, merging modernity and tradition into sunlit music that carries a message.
