Alessandro Sciarroni - Save the last dance for me

1 rue de Bourgogne, 67100 Strasbourg

This is a documentary dance work, almost archaeological, presented by the Italian Alessandro Sciarroni. Through 1950s video archives, and in collaboration with master dancer Giancarlo Stagni, he revives the Polka Chinata (which he discovered in 2018 when only five dancers still performed it in Italy), a spiral and virtuosic partner dance for two male performers. Far from a museum reconstruction, the choreographer, who favors clear, precise, economical gestures, knows how to compose a piece where everything seems to repeat but whose levers and progression remain to be revealed.
