Until the 19th century, Toulouse stood out for its strong anchoring in everyday popular singing, which led the municipality to create in 1820 the first free school of vocal music, ancestor of the Conservatory. To reconnect with this tradition, COMDT organizes Cantadas on the third Friday of every month. Inspired by the Cantèras pyrénéennes, these convivial gatherings bring together all publics to sing together without distinction between stage and spectators.
