Theatre: The Diary of a Madman

Espace Culturel Larreko, Place Xan Ithourria

Theatre: The Diary of a Madman. A discret St. Petersbourg official, Aksenty Ivanovitch Poprichtchine, struggles to find his place in the world: he lives alone with his maid Mavra, and his loves and ambitions are thwarted by his clumsiness and distraction. He then invents a more enviable life for himself, until he loses all touch with reality. An adaptation of the most funny and touching of the Petersburg Tales for three performers: Poprichtchine, his maid Mavra, and a pianist who accompanies on stage, with Prokofiev pieces, this surprising ascent toward madness.
