Music · Friday, December 4 · 20:00 · Soissons
9 Allée Claude Debussy
Since Antiquity, the banks of the Tiber in Rome have been marked by violence, between assassinations, crimes and plots. This dark atmosphere persists into the Baroque era, even in aristocratic palaces where intrigues and murders coexist with music and the arts. The composers of the time, such as Haendel, Montéclair or Bononcini, draw inspiration from these bloody dramas and the fascination with death in their cantatas and lyric works. The Tiber thus appears as a place filled with mysteries and secrets that Ensemble Hemiolia proposes to explore.
