From hearing and seeing too much, I no longer listen, I stay silent, I become desensitized to the world, I muffle the screams, silence settles in and dizziness appears. Vardhum places this sensation of vertigo at the heart of a circular world, where a cyborg character translates its resistance to the flows passing through its bodily shell by a persistence of the vocal act. An act before language, voicing—or transposition of breath into voice through the vocal cords—tends to turn physiological excess into a musical act in itself.
