ALEXANDER SODDY / STEFAN DOHR
Music · Friday, November 13 · 20:00 · Toulouse
HALLE AUX GRAINS, 1 Place Dupuy
The evening also highlights the instrument with the second concerto dedicated to him by Richard Strauss. This work recalls Mozartian clarity, a trait shared with Schubert's Symphony No. 5. In composing for the horn, Strauss necessarily thought of his father, then regarded as one of the greatest virtuosos of the instrument. Alongside Alexander Soddy, celebrated in both opera and symphonic repertoire, the Capitole Orchestra invites an exceptional soloist, worthy of this elder: Stefan Dohr, principal horn of the Berlin Philharmonic.
