A free woman, a lovers’ chase, a burning ending and a crowd on stage: with an amateur choir formed by Mixt, Victor Hugo’s play becomes a grand popular adventure and a vibrant theatrical fresco. Doña Sol is at the heart of a tragic quartet, among Hernani, King Don Carlos and his uncle Don Ruy Gomez. Around this desirous, indomitable woman, everything orbits and tears itself apart. On a stormy night, she launches a mad race toward freedom. Intrigues, betrayals and confrontations. On stage, from vaudeville to tragedy, the five acts unfold in succession.
