Conference organized in collaboration with Asia centre - Institut Ricci as part of the Chine Plurielle program. On 28 October 1926, Pius XI dedicated in Rome the six first Chinese bishops of the contemporary era. At the crossroads of the directions of the apostolic letter Maximum illud (1919), the Shanghai Council (1924) and the encyclical Rerum Ecclesiae (1926), this event marks a major turning point in missionary history.
